MGM - The Sound of Music Poster Detail
Title:
The Sound of Music Poster
Client:
Persephone Theatre
Client’s Business:
Entertainment
Rationale:
One of the most beloved musicals of all time, The Sound of Music contrasts the beauty of freedom, love and music with the brutal backdrop of war. The typography is crafted with a whimsical sense of movement and flow, evocative of the graceful movements of dance and the flowing lyrics of a serene melody. The lettering twists and curves, intertwining together and drawing the eye toward the bottom right, where it is becomes snagged and entangled in barbwire, coming to rest finally on the iron cross. It reminds us that beauty and love can outshine the fear, turmoil and suffering of war.

TAP - Tap’s Moving Party – Typography Detail
Title:
Tap’s Moving Party – Typography
Client:
Tap Communications
Client’s Business:
Advertising/Marketing/Communications
Rationale:
THE CHALLENGE: Develop materials that work as both a moving notice and an invite for a party.
THE BRIEF: Get people to realize that the agency has moved. Develop materials for a “moving in” party. Combine both so that we don’t spend too much time on this. And... the space might not be finished in time. Good Luck!
THE DELIVERY: The informal feel of the hand lettering and the jumble of boxes would contribute to the relaxed “moving day” theme. We were able to get a large array of different layouts and messages by using various sides of the boxes and mixing them together.
We used boxes as the main element for the message as they work as visual metaphors for packing and moving. The added benefit was that if the new space wasn’t actually finished in time then everything would be in boxes anyways.
